NSCAD University Library Windows

5163 Duke Street, Halifax, NS.

Items in this window detail feminist acts of organizing that saught to centre the experiences of women in conversations of oppression. This display includes photographs by Anita Martinez from the rehearsals and performances of The Secret Furies: a feminist, lesbian and gay positive political chorus group that used to rehearse at the Rumours, International Women’s Day events, and Take Back the Nights rallies. Also on display is a Chant and Song Sheet from the 1991 Take Back the Night rally; due to the mentions of gendered violence and harassment in this document an image of it is available online through our scannable QR code.
